Homesick

Just spoke to my mom, dad and grandad on the phone. Made me sad because grandad is busy telling me about this old lady who keeps forgetting things...and then he tells me again...and then he tells me again. Very sad.

I'm hoping to get home to visit next summer, but it really depends on having some dosh so not holding my breath. I miss them though :(

I'm sorry you miss them. I'm fortunate, mine live two houses over. I hope you get to see them soon.

Hope you're able to make it home. I'm only away from home a week and start getting homesick.

Thanks...it isn't heartbreaking, just a sad fact of life. I've lived away from home for years though always had the means to get back. It'll come--I'm kind of a optimistic realist hidden beneath a pessimistic cynic :)

We'll get there--or we'll wait a year, It'll be OK.

Aw, I'm so sorry, Toni. I had to move away from my aging parents last year and it's hard to be away from them at this point in their life. Of course, they're in my house for the next month and that might actually be harder, LOL.

Ooh, Toni, I know exactly how you feel. My grandfather is now in the rest home with a broken leg and I just spoke to my dad last night. Guess Grandpa slips back to 1948 sometimes and doesn't recognize his own son. Sad, sad.
