Halloween

Happy Hallowed-Chocolate!!

People keep asking me if I'm going to dress up--and I keep looking at them like they have gone bonkers. "Me? Dress up?"

Why would I?

And then I explain, it just isn't a big deal in the UK, in fact, as a child I don't remember ever going trick or treating, or even going to a costume party.

But my daughter has caught the bug, and my son will soon catch on. And it is kind of nice for them to have so much fun, even if it is just another commercialised way of generating money. I admit it, I'm a cynic!!!

  1. That's strange since many of the traditions came from Ireland. Hmmm. Oh well, I'll never pass up a reason to have chocolate.

  4. November 5? Guy Fawkes Day? Had to look it up, I admit. So how will you celebrate in the city proper or will you do something else?

  5. Meretta--DH or I will walk the kids up the block and trick or treat tonight. But to be honest I think after an hour we'll turn off the lights and snuggle up because the only one of us not sick is DD!!

  7. Makes me want to live in the UK. I hate Halloween. It's the constant door ringing that drives me---oops, here we go, kids at the dang blasted door again. Grrr. Gotta go. LOL!
