Creme Egg

Yesterday I had my first creme egg of the season. I love creme eggs. I nibble the top and then lick out the centre and then savour the egg shell itself, especially the thick chocolate bit at the bottom. For some reason I usually get asked a question when I have my mouth full with the last piece, trying to savour that sweet sensation for as long as possible. It seems to work on the same clockwork principle as any mother trying to go to the bathroom on her own.

Creme eggs hold special memories for me--when I was 12 I remember my pregnant sister eating at least 4 creme eggs per day. This is not something I would advise except for people with the metabolism of a rodent or someone who runs marathons :)

Thankfully they are only available for 1/4 of the year, otherwise I'd look like an egg too :)

  1. My weakness during the spring is the Cadbury Mini Eggs. The one with those yummy candy shells and to die-for chocolate. OHHHHHH. I go through about six or seven bags of those.

  2. I love the Cadbury Creme Eggs, too! They mucked with concept introducing all the other types...snicker, mars, etc. To me, the original is by far the best. :D

  3. Oooh I don't know the marshmallow and toffee ones are nice. I like to eat mine upside down (the egg not me!) so that the big chocolatey bit is left til last.

Can't believe Easter Eggs are already being advertised, don't they know Christmas is hardly over and it months til Easter - arghhhh.

  4. The world is a marketing paradise... Feb 14th is obviously making its presence felt, but Easter is edging in. I hate the commercialisation, but I do like the chocolate :)

  7. The creme eggs are good. But, I miss the 'hearts&darts' you used to be able to get at Velantine's Day. (mallowcreme, kinda like candy corn).
