Yesterday I had my first creme egg of the season. I love creme eggs. I nibble the top and then lick out the centre and then savour the egg shell itself, especially the thick chocolate bit at the bottom. For some reason I usually get asked a question when I have my mouth full with the last piece, trying to savour that sweet sensation for as long as possible. It seems to work on the same clockwork principle as any mother trying to go to the bathroom on her own.
Creme eggs hold special memories for me--when I was 12 I remember my pregnant sister eating at least 4 creme eggs per day. This is not something I would advise except for people with the metabolism of a rodent or someone who runs marathons :)
Thankfully they are only available for 1/4 of the year, otherwise I'd look like an egg too :)
