February already?

Who Should Paint You: Gustav Klimt

Sensual and gorgeous, you would inspire an enchanting portrait..
With just enough classic appeal to be hung in any museum!
What Artist Should Paint Your Portrait?

Found this on Mary's Bandwagon. I have always loved Klimt's work. DH and I used to have 'The Kiss' hanging over our bed--now we have a couple of skating penguins!

February 1st already! This was always my least favourite month in the northern hemisphere. This is where winter really grinds down on you and makes you wish for spring. We've had such a mild winter that I keep expecting the temperatures to plummet and the snow to fall. We have plenty of snow, mind. Lots. Lots.

But it might not happen--I'm always being reminded to look on the bright side, and it might not happen. We might have an early spring and lovely summer. I think I like to believe the worst, but hope for the best.

There are good things about February, my daughter has a birthday, my God son, two niece's, my whacky b-i-l and friends all have birthdays (guess the cards will be late again!). Valentines Day (although this thing where everybody gives everybody else a card is nuts), our 'going out' anniversary, lots of stuff.

So Happy February guys :)

Open and raw, you would let your true self show for your portrait.
And even if your painting turned out a bit dark, it would be honest.

  3. I'm not fond of Valentine's Day for myself. My DH has no imagination and always manages to mess up. But, gotta love him anyway. Darnit!

  4. (((Eve)))

I didn't get a proper valentines until I was a teenager and I think my friends sent me that!!

Brandy--my DH always says 'it's just commercialised crap' which it is, but still it is nice to think romance :)

  5. Thanks. But I'm really doing okay today.

No, Valentine's Day is designed to make the lonely feel lonelier - I hate it and generally wear black that day.

  6. The only good thing about Valentines this yr is my new job starts that day. WooHoo! I'll be too busy (hopefully) to think about anything else.

Well, I'm not sure about this one. Egads... ***Who Should Paint You: Roy Lichtenstein***

Larger than life, your personality overshadows everyone in the room
A painter would tend to portray you with a bit of added flair!

  7. I like February because it's the shortest month of the year---and what better place to stick it in then the middle of winter! I heard our news weather guy say February is suppose to be in contrast to January. :-(

Re Valentines Day, I support any holiday that requires a man to buy you chocolates. :-)

  8. Better tell my man he's supposed to buy them and not eat them :)

I'm glad Feb is short too! Short is good. Not sure I like that contrast word choice either Peggy!!

Bebo--wow, the job starts Valentines day? Cool. What is it BTW??? Lichtenstein (sp?) he's a painter???

My niece was born V Day. Always kind of felt sorry for her.

  9. Hey Toni I had the same picture as you...

I too hate the whole commercial side to Valentine's Day, but guess some men (and women) need that specific date thrown down their throat to encourage them to be romantic. You shouldn't need Valentine's Day to inspire you really!

I also find Feb expensive cos I have 16 birthdays that month!!! (Including DD - God Daughter - and my son). Love Feb cos we're off to Singapore next week!!!!!

  10. Deb, You lucky thing you! Not that I envy the sticky heat! 16 birthdays? Yikes. I think I have 9 and I was complaining.

  11. I love February! January is the month of winter I dislike. And my DD has a birthday this month too!

Valentine's day is a ridiculous holiday in my opinion. Too commercialized to mean anything. Give me a guy who comes with flowers for no reason other than he thought of you and that's my idea of romance!

  12. Just give me a man.

  13. Ooh, just realized that this Feb we will have been married 21 years -- together for 22. Yikes. What happened to the time??

LOL .. thanks for jogging the memory cells, Toni. I've been somewhat preoccupied.

What I like about Feb? The days are getting longer ....

... never used to have Valentine's Day where I came from.

  18. Eric Bana is TOTALLY GORGEOUS.

I loathe Valentine's Day. But it's gotten better since I've been married. It's the worst day of the year when you're single, though.
