1st Anniversary!!!!

I almost forgot--because I knew I had to drive the kids across town for a dental appointment early this morning it went out of my head :)

My blog is one year old today.

Happy Birthday Blog!!

I have posted nearly every day except for extended holidays to Florida. I have driven my husband to distraction as he worries what personal information I'm giving out over the net. I have had 14,563 hits most of which are me, but 5,312 are not me.

Waving to the 5,300 who don't comment on my blog and happened upon it once accidentally, probably whilst looking for romance :)

So, as a thank you for visiting my blog and keeping me company in cyberspace, I'm giving away 3 books (unread, pristine)

1) A signed copy (Cathy Mann) of A Soldier's Christmas, an anthology by Rachel Lee, Merline Lovelace & Cathy Mann.

2) The Shop on Blossom Street by the absolutely-adorable-I-want-her-for-my-friend Debbie Macomber.

3) Stormy Petrel by Mary Stewart. A classic by a master. I bought it on Mull while on holiday with my beloved grandfather. Actually if grandad was with me, he probably bought it. Must remember to take him shopping again this summer :)

All you have to do is tell me exactly what those balls are. You can try as many times as you want. I don't care if you've never commented before, jump in now! I'll run the competition till Sunday and if we have joint winners (man I so doubt it), I'll get DD to draw names.

PS. If you are somebody I'm seeing back home this summer I'll deliver prize in person. DH not allowed to enter!

How about some luscious blueberries? Oh, somebody knows the scientific name. I should remember that. But, no, with my memory being what it is, I'd probably end up making them into what Eve constantly talks about: "n----d men".

So Melissa, are there slightly different names for wild blueberries, mountain blueberries, etc.?

Ok, Toni, what exactly do you mean by "exact details"?

How about a bowl of wax blueberries? They look a little too glossy and too round to be real. That means you'd have to keep them out of the reach of tiny people.

The most delicious blueberries I can remember having were freshly picked from the rocks around Lake Nutimek in the Whiteshell area. Ditto for the tiny wild strawberries.

  16. Ok Toni, could they simply be blue marbles! Just don`t go on Google image and type "blue balls" as it is a bit disturbing!!!!

  17. Plastic grapes.

Happy birthday to your blog. That is a long time to be around and still be posting. We must be fanatics.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Scott - we're fanatics.

  19. Delectable candies, conceived in the deepening twilight.

    Or something like that.

  20. Happy Anniversary Blog!

My guess is they are those glass balls that go in the bottom of a fish tank or vase.

  21. Oh man there is a power thing going on --who knew what a thrill it was to know the answers? No wonder teachers like teaching :)

Thanks to everyone for their guesses. Sunday is the day I'll reveal what the blue balls are (thanks Janny for the google info--I think I'll pass, from previous experience).

Not posting anything original today (no quips please) as DS is away and hoping to write this afternoon, and need to put out some excerpts on these email loops. Some I enjoy and others irritate me.

Hope to check out your blogs once I've fed small child who's crafting.

  22. Ruby!!! Hi there!!! Did you get my late email???

Scott and Eve. I have never been a fanatic before. I like it :) Of course I've never been in the looney bin before but this beats medication and I think has a similar calming effect!

  23. Janny, I googled "blue balls" too and what a shocker! I've got my results set to moderate too. Definitely not what you want your kids to see.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Oh Goodness... now we'll all be tempted!!

    ReplyDelete
  25. Why is it that when someone tells you not to do something, you really want to? I'm fighting the temptation to Google "blue balls". LOL

    ReplyDelete
  26. Hello Toni! Can't resist a competition. Could it possibly be frog spawn?

    ReplyDelete
