Sprung?

Spring might be edging into this part of Canada--slowly, drip by icy drip.
It makes for a pretty wet time and hard work walking to school. But I am desperate to see the end of this barren whiteness, even if I have to put up with a skating rink in the garage and slop everywhere else.

Please please please can we have spring (and no flood)(and while I'm begging could DH find the memory chip he lost yesterday)(and could we come into some money, but not from anything bad happening to anybody else)(and could we get rid of the damned mice)(and could my stomach become magically flat)(and please please please could my love scene be magically done).

  1. Oh, Toni, that looks awful (and boy are your streets narrow). We've been lucky to have sunshine the last couple of days. I think (and knock on wood) I may even see my driveway again this weekend!

  2. Spring has sprung here early - and for us allergy sufferers that's terrible. It bodes for an awfully long allergy season. (cough, cough, sneeze)

So, are you a little bit excited about Spring coming? It was hard to tell from your post :)

  3. That's our back lane Peggy--weird system in this city of having backlanes. It is kind of nice though, means there are lots of quiet tracks where you can walk along even in the heart of the city.

Notice our garage is lower than the back lane? When it does melt (maybe today please?) it all pours into the garage, hence the ice rink. We really need to raise the garage, ugh!

Eve--sorry about the allergies, my mom suffers horribly too.

  6. I'm in the Toronto area and we've had a very mild winter this year both in temperature and in snowfall. It's a great winter if you like muck. I have to admit I miss snow this year. Don't miss the cold, mind you. What part of Canada are you in?

  8. Nienke, Christa, I'm in Winnipeg. We haven't had too extreme a winter (except the week that hit -49C), but have had plenty of snow for here. This is only my second winter in Manitoba (I used to live in Waterloo many moons ago) but I'd rather have UK temperatures :)

I am a wimp too Rene.

  9. See, see - Dennie too. It's going to be a miserable spring/summer here in Texas BECAUSE we had a mild winter with no snow/sleet. Bad allergens, mosquitoes and fleas. We really needed some. (snow that is) LOL
