Bust

Well the weekend was pretty much a writing bust. DS had stomach flu Friday night and Saturday. Hubby stayed up all night with him and then drove our visitors to the airport at 6 a.m. DH was wrecked for the day, as was DS, but not our daughter who had swimming and birthday parties and *stuff* to do!!!

So I had to step into DH's shoes instead of doing my usual Saturday morning writing and take DD around even though I could barely keep my eyes open--hence no blogging--plus I really enjoyed Dan Carter's muscles even though I like to see the All Blacks thrashed on the pitch!!!

Our son is much better, but not 100% yet and DD did complain a little of feeling sick before she went to bed, so if you don't see me for a couple of days...

England won!! Wooohooo!! Through to the next round thanks to the talented Bend it like Beckham :) I won't post a picture of David because I think he's a poser :D

Instead a flower from my garden :)

Sorry about the stomach flu. Hope it doesn't rage around your entire household.

  5. Ah, so Beckham is still the man on England's team then? Don't shoot me, but I really don't follow soccer. I'm glad for England's team though. How do they stack up on the world cup scene anyway?

  6. Brandy, Loreth, Diane, Peggy--DH and DD sick this morning. DS back to fine form and finally eating again.

Actually my daughter is quite happy to be sick--she hates to be left out!!!

Scott--yes, Beckham is captain and a good player. Gerrard and Roonie are big stars too--being strikers.

England's rank depends on who you talk to. They play Portugal next.

England beat Ecuador 1:0 and Portugal beat Holland 1:0 in a total scrap. It'll be a tough game--latin temperaments against dogged English determination.

  7. it's always the worst when the hubby is sick - it's about equal to four kids at once - thrust me on this - I have been through both scenarios!

  8. I'll have to check out the game with Portugal if I can see it. I hear that both teams are good.

I entered a contest with a short short. Come check it out.

  9. YAY ENGLAND!!! I saw a bit of that game last night...Mr. Beckham, too. Must admit I don't like his haircut. I thought he could do better considering all I've heard about him being a hearthrob. ;)

Hugs to the family. And don't you come down with it, Toni! Mom's aren't allowed! ;)

  11. Yuck! Stomach flu in the summer! Sorry to hear about your lousy weekend - take care you don't get it, coz who'll hold your head and bring you non-fizz ginger ale? :)

  12. Yes--the last thing I want is to get sick. Can't comment on how 'well' men cope with being ill :D

    Kids up and down.

  13. Toni, so sorry to hear the Anderson Clan have been ill, you keep well honey. Good result from England, not fantastic play (again) but they are saving themselves for what's yet to come - I hope!

Couple of red cards on the Portugese side so fingers crossed we can continue to survive without Owen. I try hard not to like Beckham but sometimes I turn to mush and fail...... ;-)

  14. There is nothing worse than the stomach flu. My dh and kids seem to attract it. Of course I'm always the healthy one so I get to clean up. My weekend was lousy too and I didn't get any writing done either.

  15. Deb, i'm the same with *David*--and I can't even think it without Victoria's accent :D

    Rene--trip wasn't good??? ugh.

Everyone is still sick. I doubt they'll be away from home tomorrow. Sigh. I am not writing what I'm thinking because i'm a good person inside :) Honest!

  16. I thought I came by here earlier? Maybe I came by and read it but didn't have time to comment because of mom. She's been at me practically every 15 minutes. Yes, the stomach flu is bad - I hope both of our families get better soon. And please don't let me catch it because I have no one to watch mom. Keep your fingers crossed.
