Depressed with World News

Did you see the news last night? That shooter in Montreal? The problems with Afghanistan and NATO and Bhagdad and global warming.

I am depressed.

I had a great day editing, trying to remind myself where I am in my story, who my characters are (my villain freaked me out--maybe I should test him out on you guys before I send him in...).

I went to a meet the teacher night at school. We got there early and actually got to chat about my daughter (she's a genius in two languages, what can I say). I came home, put on the news and bam. Innocents dying everywhere.

Too depressed! Fingers crossed the world gets better and we all do our bit.

Maybe I should do what Bruce Willis does and just not watch the news... Nah. I'll put up photos of a gorgeous man instead. I know who he is...does anybody else??

  1. Okay, I'm curious. Who is he?
As for the news. I read it online instead of watching it on the tv. I find it less....gory that way

  2. You confused me for a moment -- saw it on the news tonight. Horrific. I thought of you right away because of the Dunblane connection.

  3. I'm a news junkie--online, and on the TV. :(

There must be good things happening somewhere. Maybe...

  4. The news is definitely depressing. The whole situation in Iraq just doesn't seem to be getting any better. And then the shooting...sigh.

Don't know who that guy is, but he's WUDERBAR.

  6. The news has been greatly depressing for some time, but the cute pics helped. Who is he?

  7. Craig Doyle. But only because when you move your cursor over the pic, the caption says his name. Who is he?

The news is horrible. Can't believe it. Well, I guess I can. That's depressing too.

  8. Craig Doyle indeed :)

An Irish presenter who works on British TV and now I believe Capitol Radio. He has the loveliest voice (his accent is glorious but I like the voice too :)

  9. My mom called and told me to turn on CNN to see what had happened at Dawson College. It's horrible.

Edits can bog a writer down. Keep plugging along. You'll get it done.

  10. Zinnia, it is terrible. They reckon the guy had a weird blog too. No real surprise I guess.

I actually love edits. Better than the scary blank page.

  11. He's cute *sigh* but he's no Hugh Jackman ... (running from the room)

  12. LOL--I have to tell you, knowing what I know about you, if you heard him speak you'd be won over. Hugh or no Hugh :)

  13. Terrible news. What a world we live in. Craig Doyle = very nice totty. Sexy voice. Shame we haven't seen him on the telly so much since he left Holiday. I think he's doing a sports programme but I don't watch it.

  15. Hey Toni, hop on over to my blog for some happy news - it's Canadian even! :) (and not even about me!) As for the Dawson College shooting, at least the police/paramedics etc. have learned from the other shootings and have better procedures for getting in and shooting the perp. That's something to be thankful for, right? It's a terrible, terrible, thing but at least they got him. Sick people in the world. And hey - we write about them, remember? Cute guy, but I'm with Bailey - it's Hugh all the way, baby! :)
