Winter

Winter is here. I don't care what the date is. Winter is here...

We have a forecast of 90 km winds and light snow. Grrrh.

I am not ready for this--we don't even have our wood delivered yet.

Funny how quickly you forget, and how quickly you remember, the routines of winter. I have to set the thermostats at night. I have to not feed the dogs outside, else their tongues stick to their bowls and start to bleed. I have to allow an extra ten minutes for every journey, just getting into snow gear, hats, mitts, scarves and boots. And I have to adjust all the kids seatbelts, because they can barely squeeze into them with their Michellin-like bundled up figures.

Did I mention DH has a job interview in Brisbane? Did I?

  1. I know, it hurts just thinking about it. We need those hotties, er, tasteful artistic models, to turn up the heat. For more inspiration, feel free to check out Henri @ my blog ;)

  4. Oooh, Toni. I can commiserate. We don't have the snow yet, but the other day we were in the minus teens. Brrr.

Brisbane sounds delightful right about now! Even better once you start factoring in the 90 km wind chill! Bundle up warm!

  5. We had a really cold day yesterday, but today is better - more like how fall is supposed to be. No snow yet, even though we were forecasted to get a few flurries.

Wow - Brisbane! If he got the job, would you consider moving there?

  11. Hmmm...it is kind of chilly here too. I only ran the a/c in the care a couple of times in the afternoon yesterday. And I took my flip flops off to put on some socks until the house warms up. I wore a sweater to take the kids to school but had to take it off because it was too warm outside. :)

  15. I haven't visited for a few days and look what I've been missing! Best bums I've seen in a long time although my DH has got a fine one. LOL! Lovely pic of the snow. Here we've had one of the warmest Octobers on record and I haven't even turned on the central heating yet.
