Eyes

Now this is what caught my attention when I first saw Tatum Channing in GQ (this photo is from that shoot). He has the most beautiful eyes. Now I know photographers and lighting and whatever can work marvels, but this guy is seriously beautiful. So--what's the first thing you notice about a person?

PS. Blogging on the Trisk Author blog. A reworked piece of Chapter One that has been posted before. If you're interested in seeing if it has improved any :)

  1. A lot of times it's the eyes, and how someone who I "notice" looks at me. Someone who looks me directly in the eyes is very appealing. I like that a lot. It's definitely a confidence thing, and not a lot of guys do it well, sometimes depending on their age.

I also notice his smile. If he has a wicked grin or a nice, happy smile that says he loves life, I take notice.

  2. I notice smiles and hands. I like rough and rugged capable hands and smiles that are genuine and full of mirth.

  3. Toni-why the hell are you trying to steal my men?

First you try and claim Eric Bana. I don't think so.

    Now Channing?

LOL I'm just kidding. We have freakishly similar taste in men. My old She-Ra template used to be made up of those GQ photos.

But that's why I like EB too-it's in his eyes. :P

  4. Amy--we could go back and do a blog search and work out priority but I'm happy to share (although Eric IS mine ;) Very nice to have such good taste in men. I only know this guy from the GQ shoot. I have plans for that face :)

Stacy--beware those wicked grins :D they can get you into trouble.

Meretta, I like hands too. Amazing how diverse they can be. I always remember looking at my kids hands and marveling at them and we all wondered where they got their lovely hands up, and my dad held his out (a bit like George in Seinfeld) and said, 'They're mine.' Very sweet :)

  5. I notice eyes. Then if they smile, I notice the smile. I usually base my thoughts on whether I'll be able to start a conversation or not.

  7. Hmm. What do I notice first? Probably build. Hair is a good one too.

  8. I like a person's eyes, too. And they're smile. I think those are what I see first.

  9. That's a tough question for me ... because I have seen people with beautiful eyes, or hands, or thighs :) ... abs, whatever, but unless there is that special energy that makes them come alive in a charismatic way, it's ... just missing for me. It's almost like a 'life force' that attracts me -- mesmerizes me -- the most. It's the magic underneath that makes those eyes dance, or seduce, or simmer with dark mystery ... yum :)

  10. Now - eyes, and the tones of voice. A decade ago - hands, especially the ring finger.

  11. Omigosh, this guys in GQ??? I've got to start buying that magazine again! Used to, when I had money. I always notice a guys eyes, and I like them dark, and I like my men dark...funny how I ended up married to two guys with blue eyes; one blonde and the other with brown hair...beyond me! And I love the shape of a man's hands - rugged but not square shaped, like they can handle tools, a scalpel, an ax, long fingers. And if a guy looks at you just that one "second" too long...very sexy. :)
