Dixie Chicks

Hey, the Dixie Chicks won Best Song of the Year at the Grammys, with 'I'm not ready to make nice.'

I know not everyone likes them (*cough* mentioning no names LOL), but I'm a big fan and I think it's an excellent song. And it kind of felt like a bit of forgiveness too. Although some of the people in the 'country' section didn't look too chuffed.

I have days when I'm 'not ready to make nice' either. So good on ya girls, keep at it :)

  1. I like that song and I have the album, but I haven't really "gotten into it" yet. It's not fast enough to run to (just about the only time I listen to music anymore) and the lyrics are not catchy enough to sing along with when I'm sucking wind. ;)

We're -36C this morning. I see you're cold too. sigh.

  2. My hands nearly froze poop-scooping the yard. Brrhhh.

I have the album--can you tell I went to bed early? :) I missed most of the fun. I didn't think the album was the best. I wanted James Blunt to win.

  3. I don't really care for their music. As for their opinions, they are musicians, don't really care what they have to say politically. It is the job of rock and roll to be contrary to the establishment. It certainly wouldn't keep me from buying their music. I liked their version of "Landslide."

  5. I LOVE that song, and the whole CD. It's a great driving CD and you can carole away, not caring what anyone else thinks of you. I don't think it was the best album of the year though. I was PO'd that they snubbed Nickelback and didn't nominate them for anything - like best album of the year, best song, etc. They had a terrific album out and have 3 videos from it, contrary to one video for the Dixie Chicks. Guess they've won too many Grammys in the past and maybe PO'd off somebody themselves! At least we'll see them at the Junos. :)

  8. I haven't gotten the CD yet, but I do like their music. Don't care 100% for the attitude, but hey, I'm glad to see some fiesty women out there who just do their own thing.

Be safe with all that cold weather! It's gonna snow like crazy in the midwest, but at least it's 23 degrees above zero.

Laurie, I love Nickelback! I play that CD at work, albeit very softly LOL.
