Did you see this...

Automaton author writes up a storm???

I refer specifically to this section:

"But Parker doesn't describe himself as an "author", and he's far from the creative type. Rather, the US-based professor of management science at INSEAD business school has developed and patented algorithms enabling computers to write books for him....

...And much to the chagrin of content makers everywhere, Parker said the same technology could be used to create video content, software and even computer games. He has recently branched out into poetry and crossword puzzles and said his next challenge was to move into fiction with computer-generated romance novels."

What a w*nker. How insulting, not just to romance writers, but to readers.

What do you think?

  1. Great shades of Also Sprach Zarathustra and HAL!!! . I mean, really, what does a PC (or a MAC for that matter) know about good love? Ish! "insert part a into part b"? LOL!

  2. Good Lord, what an @ss. If it were that easy, heck I'd be a writer. It takes emotion, and I don't think a computer can claim to have that.

  3. Oh good grief! What a jerk!

  4. Unbelievable. I once read a sci-fi, "Revenge to the Worst Enemies", or something like it, when a rejected author comes up with a computer program to write books. Never thought it would become a reality. Btw, on a good note, a great cover (the post below)!
