Desperate Measures

Almost a disaster today. I poured my tea time gin over two ice cubes and went down to the basement to get the tonic only to discover NO TONIC!!! I found a can of soda water in the fridge. It wasn't bad actually :) Crisis avoided.

  1. I thought you were going to say 'and when I got back DD had drank it...!' Hmmm it's been ages since I had a G&T - nice with a glugg of martini in it too.

  2. Is it weird to ask what it tastes like? I can't drink, allergic to alcohol, so am curious. And glad you avoided a crisis. *G*

  3. Brandy--highly ironic considering your name :) I'm here sniffing the Gordon's in an effort to describe it.

Have you ever smelled ethanol? It is very similar to the taste. Pure gin dissolves all pathways on your tongue until they go numb. I'm not so sure it is a taste so much as a flooding sensation and heat. I need the tonic otherwise I can't drink it. I am a wimp (unlike Deb who is a connoisseur or a drunk depending on what time you catch her--just kidding ;) Deb is my best friend from school--29 years and counting. Hope that helps. Imagine being allergic to alcohol--although it might be good for some people.

  4. Never had a gin & tonic, but I hope it didn't totally ruin your weekend. I like girly drinks, and I'm not ashamed to admit it *g*
