9/11

It still breaks my heart thinking about that day.  I was 4000 miles away, no relatives of friends in NYC, but I remember cradling my baby and thinking the world was truly a terrible place when such things could happen. And yet the most remarkable thing from that day, and the days after, were the stories of courage and love and strength shown by our fellow human beings.

It's a sad day, a sad reminder of hate and malice and war. But more importantly it is a day when we should remember those who died so tragically and publicly.
May they rest in peace.
