I'm feeling incredibly pathetic right now. I don't recall being ill for more than a couple of days in YEARS. But I'm at day 10 of feeling crappy and I'm still not completely better.
I am pretty much back to doing all the daily routine of getting kids to and from school but everything else is a bit woolly.

I AM writing. I'm working on a murder mystery set in Bamfield, Vancouver Island. Not ready to discuss the story yet, but hopefully I can pull it all together. I'm also querying another book with some agents. I love this book (it's got snow leopards and SAS soldiers, what's not to love?). I guess I love all my books, but this one is different...

The most exciting thing I've done recently is download some tunes for my daughter. All of a sudden I feel hip and young :)
I am reading my RITA books (6 out of 9 read already, yay for being ill). Except for this damn headache!!  :)

  1. Oh bummer Toni! 10 days? That just sucks... I'm sure you'll be feeling better real soon. In the meantime, rest, lots of rest (I know, you're probably bored to tears of resting!!)
    Best wishes

  4. Mom--lol, Doris :) I was getting things done. Came to an abrupt halt today. Hopefully got all the rest I needed for next stage of recovery! And you seem to be always busy. :)

  5. Oh, Toni. I'm so, so sorry to hear that you're *still* sick! Please take good care of yourself--or even better, let your family take care of you instead! :-) But you are so tough, writing through the misery. That's my girl!

  6. They say that you heal while you sleep, Toni. You'll be as right as rain in no time :)

  7. Bamfield? Awesome. I live in Alberta now but I went to University in Victoria an we often went to Bamfield for R&R.
One of the hockey moms was telling me they tried to go there for a camping trip a couple of summers ago and they couldn't because there was some kind of dangerous fungus plaguing the trees or something like that.

Hope you feel better soon. Keep sleeping and reading. (even when you feel good sleeping and reading is a solid prescription!)

  8. Sorry you're unwell Toni. I've just finished Edge of Survival, it was fab, loved Daniel and Cam. It was my first download onto my e-reader, can't wait for your next book. We're about to get some snow here in the UK, you'd think it was the end of the world. Enjoy the reading, there's has to be some reward for being ill.

  11. Kyahgirl--that's amazing :) I was there 2 summers ago...not sure what the fungus problem was. I did see they cancelled the mushroom festival? It's a wonderful place, I think we might be back this summer too. Not 100% certain. We saw so much wildlife. Kids did stuff/field courses I did during my degree. Brilliant :)

  12. KarenB, I'm so glad you liked it. :) I'm seeing more and more people get ereaders. It doesn't take longer to appreciate you don't give up print, you just gain digital. I haven't been able to get to mine for awhile b/c DH has stolen it :) As for being sick I'm a wimp. It makes me appreciate how healthy I am 99.9% of the time.
